Grace Jones in the enchanted forest of PHILIPP PLEIN
Milano, 23 February 2013 – The young designer Philipp Plein invited Grace Jones, the queen of disco music , onto his catwalk. In a dreamy atmosphere of an enchanted forest, just like a fairy tale, fascinating and mysterious, the grand voice of Grace Jones echoed through the trees. Strong and magnetic like PHILIPP PLEIN’s new Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection.
The live performance by the famous Jamaican singer, actress and model signalled the beginning of a parade of exquisite beauty, enveloped in a rare and magic atmosphere. In front of an international audience including celebrities, members of the fashion elite and a young dynamic jet set crowd.
A second live performance by Grace Jones at the much lauded PHILIPP PLEIN after party, right after the fashion show, featured a selection of the diva’s famous repertoire. This bewitching evening continued into the late hours with a dj set by Marcelo Burlon .
Like a fairy tale, the new PHILIPP PLEIN collection is bursting with the wonders of Italian-made luxury. Some of the highlights: a luxurious silver fox fur with crystal covered sleeves; The sheepskin coat with murmasky collar and cuffs over a long crepe tunic; Ultra glitter Cinderella pumps and maxi fringed shopping bags; the mermaid dress in cardinal red satin , cinched at the waist with a metallic snake ornamented belt; and a sexy evening dress in silk velvet with extra- long zipper, accentuating the sensuality of the “Cinderella “ slippers.
And just like a fairy tale with a happy ending, where love triumphs, the arrival of PHILIPP PLEIN’S bride. Sexy in her body hugging bright white dress, under a cape in jacquard knit, with white fox edging.
“Once upon a time there was a forest thick with as much love and beauty as could possibly be imagined. One day we discovered that our happy endings had been stolen from us. Welcome to our world” by Philipp Plein.
Paris, 18 January 2013 – “Regret Nothing”. An expression that can be interpreted to mean “no limits” or “no rules” in interior design. A way of thinking that Philipp Plein proudly applies to everything he does, without any regrets. He imposes his unmistakable, unique, unconventional and provocative style on his entire range, from clothing to accessories, from home furnishings to toys for adults and children alike, reinterpreting the aesthetic canons of underground cultures in extra-luxury terms. His is an unprejudiced and constantly evolving design.
Following the men’s fashion shows in Milan with PHILIPP PLEIN Homme and the children’s shows at Pitti Bimbo in Florence with PHILIPP PLEIN Petite, PHILIPP PLEIN is now in Paris to relaunch his Home Collection at “Maison & Objet” from 18 to 22 January 2012, marking an important return to his origins. In fact, the Swiss fashion house started out with a home furnishing collection in 1998. Since then, the PHILIPP PLEIN brand has been an unstoppable success, offering an eclectic style that fears no comparisons.
Featuring cosmopolitan influences, fine materials and details drawn from all PHILIPP PLEIN creations, the Home Collection represents the very essence of the brand. It deliberately breaks boundaries and is sometimes even over-the-top, but never dull, always taking things to the limit. It comprises upholstered furniture, chairs, tables, lights, household linen and furnishing fabrics, as well as guitars and skateboards with astonishing decoration elements, including razor-like sharp studs. There are also lots of toys, for adults and children alike, including a huge teddy bear embellished with CRYSTALLIZEDTM – Swarovski Elements, symbolic of the PHILIPP PLEIN Petite line, made in a limited edition of just 10, some of which can be found presiding over the children’s sections of the flagship stores in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Kitzbühel and Moscow.
In fact, play is an integral part of the designer’s work. It is with this spirit that the home furnishings from PHILIPP PLEIN combine seemingly opposite, irreconcilable materials and textures with no “regrets”. Plain and severe industrial-style steel is clad in soft nappa leather, fine ostrich and luxurious python; in lamps, the new LED lighting allows light to pass through the sturdy marble block base. There are no rules, except gratifying one’s living space with expressive codes that refer to languages of pure, unhindered creativity: rock, punk and hip hop, re-interpreted and introduced to the world of luxury and finery.
The following items will be making their debut in Paris: a large table with structure made entirely of steel, featuring the laser-cut motto on the top: REGRET NOTHING. A desk covered in crocodile print leather with legs and edges embellished with silver laminated python applications, paired with the new version of the “Jet Seat” chair, with crocodile-effect leather body and inserts in silver python wound around the chrome-plated steel base, simulating sinuous snakelike movement. The same python applications feature on the steel table lamp. Lastly, the bed with its steel structure and rich crocodile skin cover, designed to be strewn with mink and hand-embroidered silk cushions, large and small.
All the home furnishings are made by hand and, on request, can be customised and adapted to suit the environment and atmosphere of their new home. This kind of customisation service is almost unique today, offered only by a very few companies, exploring a concept of contemporary luxury that verges upon the visionary. Every item is designed with quality in mind. Quality is what PHILIPP PLEIN is all about.
Florence, 18th January - Ride the wave of rock. Make rebellion your special talent. Break all conventions. Play at being grown-up whilst enjoying the fact of being young. This is the mood of the new PHILIPP PLEIN Petite collection for boys and girls aged 4 to 16, to be featured on the catwalk of the 76th Pitti Bimbo for the first time on Friday 18 January 2013. For next winter, the famous Swiss fashion house has created pieces and patterns bold and bright enough to melt the polar ice. Girls are dressed like mini space creatures. Dresses and cardigans in black and white lurex, with matching scarves, gloves and hats. Studs and crystals applied to form large skulls and butterflies on the back of trench coats and overcoats in total black and tartan cloth. Geometric leopard print motifs, stylised flowers and butterflies are featured on the mini dresses and tops in silk blend chiffon. Laminated down jackets and parkas in iridescent silver, denim jackets in bright gold to be worn over T-shirts in all-over mirror sequin embroidery and leggings decorated with crystals that form the double P symbol. Cardigans painted in pastel colours with hand sewn stones on the wrists, and super slim jeans embellished with studs and crystals that create small skulls on the back pockets. For the youngest girls too, there is no shortage of luxury articles, from patchwork fox furs to nappa leather and leopard effect pony jackets. Perfect for catwalk princesses! The boys’ collection is inspired by the great maritime tradition, with hip hop and neo punk aspects. Elegant mini suits made from stretch cool wool in blue, black, grey and ecru, to be worn with two-tone 100% cotton shirts trimmed with denim, perhaps under a trench coat or overcoat with leather lapels, martingale and oversize buttons featuring military-inspired coats of arms. To be combined with blazers featuring a large skull-shaped resin patch pressed onto the back, denim sleeves with black and white printed Popeye graphics or T-shirts with fun terrorist pets drawn on the chest. Look like a young heartbreaker in the denim jacket with leather sleeves and oversized snaps with exterior logo, to be worn over a piquet polo shirt with double two-tone collar, large wool scarves and jeans with studs applied to the back pockets. Luxury lined jackets in ultra-soft sheepskin. Carefully crafted little masterpieces that evoke the Homme collection mood. The sportswear pieces complete the look. Mini chenille tracksuits in pastel shades for her, in jersey fleece for him. All distinguished by the unmistakable skull symbol. Last but not least, shoes to suit every taste! For girls the collection includes ballet shoes covered in gold and silver crystals, sneakers in quilted fabric and leopard effect leather boots with oversize zip decorated with flowers. Boys, on the other hand, wear high top sneakers with a relief skull impressed on the upper, studded combat boots and warm winter boots with oversize zip and cosy sheepskin lining. For even its very youngest patrons, attention to detail and to the origin of each piece is an indispensable requirement for the Swiss fashion house, which has chosen to apply a small tricolour flag to each item, emphasising its authenticity and the high quality of strictly Italian production.
For this special debut on the catwalk, the message from the designer Philipp Plein is loud and clear: “Fashion is all about playing, having fun, being brave enough to experiment and not taking oneself too seriously. It is about making room for that freedom and carefreeness that we only enjoy in our dreams. For adults and children alike.”
Regret Nothing. Mess with the best, die like the rest!
THE SPECTACULAR LANDING OF A MILITARY HELICOPTER ON THE RUNWAY OF THE NEW PHILIPP PLEIN HOMME FALL/WINTER 2013/2014 COLLECTION.
An international audience including personalities from the world of fashion , sport and entertainment attended the show last night at Milan’s Teatro Alcione, transformed for the evening into an airport runway complete with a military helicopter, landing simulation, transporting PHILIPP PLEIN’S new fashion heroes.
Milano, 14 January 2013 – ONLY KILL FOR REAL LOVE by Philipp Plein. Teatro Alcione, 9pm, it all starts with a spectacular landing of a military helicopter on the catwalk transformed into an airport runway. A masterly simulation obtained through special effects of lighting, sound and music. Flowing out of the helicopter, surrounded by sensual pin up Bombers, a troop of hot, strong, brave young men. Champions of a true ideal, fight only for real love, and “Regret Nothing”, which is also the groove of a new style battle.
To prepare for the fashion war that awaits them, for next the next Fall/Winter 2013/2014 the PHILIPP PLEIN men are outfitted in the glorious military tailored tradition revisited through revolutionary Punk and Hip Hop cultures, and interpreted in an extra-luxurious key through the use of prized materials such as cashmere, snakeskin, deerskin and crocodile.
Terry Richardson, Lea T and Poppy Delevingne are the stars of the PHILIPP PLEIN Spring/ Summer 2013 campaign.
The famous American photographer once again shoots the Swiss maison's advertising campaign for Spring / Summer 2013. Featuring Richardson himself alongside two international top models.
A new Versailles. No longer lit up by candle light, but by ultra-modern neon lights that are reflected endlessly in a sophisticated mirroring effect. Contemporary wood-panelling. Two new leading ladies: top models Lea T and Poppy Delevingne. This is the subject of the new PHILIPP PLEIN Spring Summer 2013 campaign, shot for the second timeby the famous American photographer Terry Richardson. As "king of the gang", once again in this shoot, he has moved to the other side of the lens and become a star of the campaign himself. In fact, the slogan of the new work will be “Terry Richardson and the gang”, confirming the photographer's total artistic and personal identification with the spirit of the brand. For last season's campaign, FW 2012,Richardson made the surprise decision, for the first time in his career, to feature himself alongside the famous British actor and singer, Ed Westwick, celebrity testimonial of the Swiss maison.
The stars are Brazil's Lea T and British model, Poppy Delevingne. The former, a rebellious non-conformist, the latter, sophisticated and aristocratic. Sexy, as they are swathed in super figure-hugging nappa leather, ethereal, as they are caressed by light and airy lace and voile. Luxurious, in silk laden with opulent rococo prints.Their highly sensual and contrastingfemininity is emphasized by the appearance of two identical male twins in each shot, real toy boys playing their provocative and impertinent games. In pure PHILIPP PLEIN style.
The women depicted are strong and seductive, as dictated by the Swiss maison’s founder and designer himself for the new collection. A young noblewoman amuses herself by joining an aristocratically punk party, with a skillful mix of luxury and outrageousness, opulence and rigour. Irreverent and sensual scenes set in imaginary halls of the Court of Versailles, re-styled in the severity of black and white, with dark walls, illuminated by post-industrial neon white.
The campaign for the upcoming Spring/Summer season by PHILIPP PLEIN pays homage to the ostentation of a glorious epoch that now belongs to the past. But it is also a tribute to the contemporary woman, self-assured and decisive, who loves to amaze and surprise with continuous contrasts, skillfully blending severity and provocation, classic with modern, sensuality and strength.
"I am happy that my creations will again be interpreted with the artistic inspiration of an undisputed genius of contemporary photography like Terry Richardson,” said Philipp Plein. "The fact that he wanted to shoot self-portraits together with Lea T and Poppy Delevingne in these new images for Spring Summer 2013 makes me even prouder of my work. I hope that our combined energy, both Terry's and mine, and our idea of beauty will be appreciated by many, if not by all."
PHILIPP PLEIN INAUGURATES THE 17TH FLAGSHIP STORE IN BERLIN
PHILIPP PLEIN chooses one of the most important streets of Berlin, Kurfürstendamm 195, as the location of the 17th flagship store.
Following the recent inauguration of mono-brand stores in Milan and Dubai , the opening of Berlin signifies one more step in the strategy of brand consolidation for the label that symbolizes ultra- contemporary luxury beyond all convention.
In the heart of old West Berlin, an elegant and sophisticated boulevard as conceived by Bismarck himself, 300 square meters distributed on two floors and dedicated principally to men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories. In addition to furnishings belonging to the PHILIPP PLEIN Home Collection. In homage to the designer who began his career in furniture and accessories. 25 square meters of pure PHILIPP PLEIN style in home design, both astonishing and daring, just like the fashion collections.
The Berlin boutique celebrates the continuing collaboration between the Swiss Maison and the architectural firm AquiliAlberg. The largest mono-brand boutique to date, covering two floors – 70 square meters on the ground floor and 230 square meters on the upper floor – of a pure and minimal aesthetic typical of the PHILIPP PLEIN Home Collection. Featuring elements such as pale ostrich skin covered walls, lacquered white furnishings, dark marble floors with refined parquet inserts, shiny steel and maxi Murano glass chandeliers, identifiable combinations found in all PHILIPP PLEIN mono brand stores. Not to mention a crystal showcase housing the unmistakable skull covered in CRISTALLIZEDTM-Swarovski Elements.
There are no fixed rules, no regulations to stifle creativity, the spirit of the collection is guided purely by inspiration. The jungle, modern gladiators, Baroque, American surfers, French haute couture…all concepts borrowed, and reinterpreted by one of today’s principal masters of extreme and transgressive luxury, the designer Philipp Plein, who claims:
“The opening in Berlin represents a very significant step for me. Not only because Berlin is one of the most dynamic cities in Europe, but also because I consider Berlin as a second home. It’s like returning to my homeland – I was actually born in Munich- after a long journey of discovery covering far away cities and continents. Berlin is the 17th opening, following a series that includes Dubai, Monte Carlo, Vienna, Moscow, Kitzbühel, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Forte dei Marmi, Düsseldorf, Marbella, Baku, Saint Petersburg, Milan, Seoul, and Macao. Each one of these cities has taught me something, has excited and enriched me and now, after a consolidated international recognition, I can finally return home and express my values and designs in absolute confidence.”
PHILIPP PLEIN opens his first flagship store in Amsterdam, in the exclusive location of Hooftstraat.
The new boutique, which covers a total of 85 m2, reflects PHILIPP PLEIN style in every detail. The dynamic and luminous space was designed by the architectural firm AquiliAlberg and has one maxi shop window overlooking Hoofstraat, the Rodeo Drive of Amsterdam, a small street famous for the high concentration of luxury brands and boutiques.
The interior design combines the pure and minimalist aesthetics of the PHILIPP PLEIN Home Collection with the unconventional and alternative luxury of the collections created by the Swiss fashion house.
As in all PHILIPP PLEIN stores, only the very best materials have been used. White is the dominant colour, creating a sophisticated contrast with the marble and herringbone floors. The storage and display elements alternate lacquered finishes with chrome-plated metal and ostrich leather, creating an attractive flow of solids and voids, and providing a setting for the unmistakable skull studded with CRYSTALLIZED™ - Swarovski Elements enclosed in a glass showcase, an integral element of the store concept.
Design and attention to detail, elegance and a rock spirit are common themes of the PHILIPP PLEIN style, which is always high impact and original, alternative and extremely contemporary. These characteristics can be found in every expression of the designer’s unlimited creativity.
“Amsterdam is the second European capital, after Milan earlier this year, where we have opened a store,” explains Philipp Plein.“The European capitals are the most difficult to enter for a variety of reasons, and the investment is especially important for a growing company such as PHILIPP PLEIN.I plan to open in Paris and London soon, but in order to maintain our standard of luxury we must wait until we can attain the best location that each city offers. The rare opportunity arose to open on Amsterdam’s most important high end shopping street, and we couldn’t pass it up.”
In addition to Amsterdam, PHILIPP PLEIN stores can be found in Monte Carlo, Vienna, Moscow, Kitzbühel, Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Forte dei Marmi, Düsseldorf, Marbella, Baku, St. Petersburg, Milan, Seoul, Dubai and Macao.

An area extending over 100 m2 and, to welcome the public, the unmistakable skull covered with CRISTALLIZEDTM-Swarovski Elements, a distinctive trait of all PHILIPP PLEIN stores.
